Mantras and Meditation
    #7139304 - 07/06/07 09:18 PM (16 years, 9 months ago)

Just wondering if anyone here meditates using Mantras. If so, could you share one with me? And i was also wondering if a Mantra HAS to be said aloud or can it be said internally?
Thanks.

You can use this one to great effect, either silently or aloud.

Saying a mantra aloud tends to help focus one's energy more powerfully than simply thinking it. Some of my favorite mantras are the Gayatri mantra, and the sacred mantra of Avalokiteshvara, "Om Mani Padme Hum." I also like the central Shaivite mantra, "Aum Namah Shivaya."
