Dogs can smell LSD
    #713811 - 06/30/02 07:46 PM (14 years, 7 months ago)

I'd like to let everyone know that dogs can be trained to smell LSD. I don't know if it is as standard as training them to smell marijuana, but it is not odorless. Atleast not to the dogs. check out this link :

It may be that despite this product it is still difficult to smell, but it's not odorless as everyone thinks and according to Shulgin, it's not tasteless either.
Update...... for some reason the link above isn't working so let me just describe the product. Sigma-aldrich is a chemical supply company that sells a line of products called Psuedo-scents. They are used to train dogs to find drugs and dead bodies and stuff. Well, they have one for LSD. If you go to www.sigmaaldrich.com
and do a keyword search for psuedo, you should find it. the search function on their site is tricky though.

been stopped with LSD in my car long ago, dogs did a thorough search and failed to find eaither the couple oz's of pot or the vial of acid......

My faith in drug sniffing dogs isn't that high...afterall they are only as good as their trainer

i couldnt find it on the site. LSD is so diluted in usually alcohol or in such low quantity on paper or in tabs i doubt that dogs could pick it up.

Lsd doses are in mics thats pretty fucken small for dogs to sniff. I dunno for sure tho.

I have also had the luck of a crappy dog! he failed to smell where the drugs were at the time but was very good at pointing out to the officer where they were a day or two before! Strange.... I'm sorry about thesibma search page.. it's wierd. You have to push go instead of just hitting enter otherwise the page will reload w/ no results ...... stuff like that. Anyway the product is called Sigma Pseudo Narcotic Scent LSD formulation, the pruduct number is P1334. i found it just now by doing a keyword search for "scent"
Yes, LSD is very diluted and the doses are in microgram amounts, but I live on the border and am familiar with what people go through to get past the dogs at border patrol checkpoint just to get caught by a dog. They are some bad mo-fos! Maybe you're right. Sigma wouldn't sell it, though if it weren't selling. So either alot of dogs are getting trained with it, or it works or both.
