perlite casing ??

i was wondering how perlite has worked for ne1 that uses or tried it in their casings as the base layer. how moist was the perlite u used? i was going to go perlite chrushed up brf cake then hores poo mixed with straw then some jiffy mix for a top layer. perhaps ill do a lil experiment and test out perlite, nothing, or verm, im gona have a few casings so what the heck. any other ideas or comments?

from what I heard, you shouldnt use Perlite in casings...

Perlite makes an awesome bottom layer. You only need a quarter of an inch. You can soak it and drain it, that's plenty moist.
