Random search pulls up jstor article about additives with A. bisporus.

Dunno, interesting stuff though. I know some people do suggest adding a small amount of veggie oil to substrate mixes, and this seems to stand behind that notion. I haven't the

I usually add 1 oz of Veg Oil to my substrate. Never tried it on the casing. Pretty interesting. I don't think I will try it anytime soon. I think the veg oil if added to the casing would have to be in very small amounts, maybe a teaspoon or less.

Try it, let us know the results.

no sacin is adding soy bean meal or cotton seed meal at 10%weight of your dried substrate. you mix this with your fully colonized bulk sub. you do this before casing. its in pauls book TMC

I've always been curious of cotton seed meal. Its pretty high in nitrogen I believe. (don't quote me on that)

I assume you mean before casing as in the time of spawn? So it would basically and additive to your sub.

Or you are saying to mix this to your fully colonized sub???? How and why would you do that?

Do you have links by chance?
