First Casing.....
    #712732 - 06/30/02 07:37 AM (21 years, 5 months ago)

My friend reccently just finished a casing out of a growbag and coco coir (gro brick). I was wondering if it is a good idea to just throw it in a terrarium with perlite at the bottom, or put it in an incubator first untill the mycelium pokes through. The growbag used was fully colonized and another week passed, but when it was broken up it appeared to have parts of the substrate still on it. Will this pose a problem?

Thanks

Cover the casing in saran wrap/cling film/tin foil. Poke a few holes in it, and let it sit in the incubator until the mycelium pokes evenly through the casing layer. Patch any few odd spots where the Myc. pokes through with more casing material.

You probably be OK, if you see any colours on or in the casing it is doomed.

Good luck
