Spore Vendors use Additives?

i was just wondering which spore vendors used suspension additives such as "Jet-Dry" and glycerine in their syringes.
i've noticed some vendor syringes have a single huge clump of spores which needs to be shake to break up, while other vendor syringes seem to have "powdery" loose spores in the solution. i'm guessing some of them use suspension additives?
just looking to see which vendors do use them as i always use 1 drop of jet-dry per 500ml of filtered water i use for my syringes as it makes the spores not stick to sides of the syringe and makes it easier to evenly distribute when inoculating.

I read a thread about suspension additives and was kind of hesitating doing it because it was just an idea and no one who has done it had posted yet with their experiences. How is it working out for you?

You can also use an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner to break up clumps in your syringes. I believe some vendors have used this method as well.

well my method of using 1 drop of jet-dry per 500ml of water seems to work fine. when the syringes are left sitting the spores look like sediments collected on the bottom, then when shaken and held to a light the tiny spore clumps are spread throughout the syringe. nice dusty solution. also helps when some syringes look clear cause most the spores stcuk to the sides of the syringe, makes a few clumps float around ensuring the reciever it has spores in it. from what i read on mycotopia most people who use jet-dry use 1 drop per 100cc/ml. so my 1 drop to 500ml is quite dilute. i've used a PESA syringe made with jet-dry water and all jars colonized fine.

Good to know. When I make syringes, I dilute the spores with slightly warm water and let them hydrate at room temp before I place in the fridge for storage. I've not had clumpage yet. I'm going to have to go get some jet-dry. All i've got is anti-bacterial soap and I Do not think that's ideal!

I would imagine, what vendors use - is propriatary information. A couple drops of jet dry - doesn't hurt a thing. Hell - astroglide will have the same effect.

Actually, Astroglide feels much better... Oh... you meant for Syringes!!!!

You're only supposed to use Astroglide with the Penis Envy strain.

This has got to be a stupid question - but how strong is the Jet-Dry barrier?
If it works as a surfactant to keep the spores separated, does this inhibit their ability to join together for breeding - or would that produce "like attracts like" forces and actually help them breed easier ?
If they are closed off from the water, does it inhibit their quest for food?
Would them having to break free from the Jet Dry cause more stress/unnecessary expenditures of energy ?
just curious ... to a fault ! Thanks !

Spores don't join together. The hyphae that emerges from them do. RR

salt actually aids in germination. i've seen salt slurries used for edibles but nobodys ever talked about it as an lc for cubes
