humidity % to initiate pinning ok?

I've just put a tray of cased and patched WBS in a monotub FC to initiate pinning.
Humidity is 87%. Is that ok?
Before it was in a closet. As soon as I saw mycelim coming through the casing layer, I patched it and put it in the FC. Temperature is 75 F (can't change that).
Ideally I want a minimum maintenance setup. But if that humidity is too low and going to cause problems I can start spraying/fanning.
Any advice welcome, thanks.

it shouldnt cause problems but it would be optimal if you had 100% till you get primordia then you can lower it if you want.I always keep it at 100 since for some reason cased subs tend to do better ime.

You want upper ninety to near 100% humidity with lots of air exchange. Misting is required. Even at 99% humidity, the proper amount of air exchange will dry your casing layer(which is a pinning trigger), thus you need to mist to replenish the moisture.
87% is too dry to stimulate a good pinset. RR

You can leave either a sheet or waxpaper or saran wrap with lots of pinholes over the top of the casing until the myc starts to poke through fairly evenly then remove, that will help but then your still going to have to fan and mist after that. Fanning at this point rids the casings' micro climate of stagnant air pockets where co2 buildup is too high for good primordia formation it also creates evaporation of the casings surface which is part of the primordia formation process. Your going to have to invest in an automated system if you want minimum maintenance. GL

So it should still have something covering the casting even though it's in the FC with a light cycle?
I took it off when I put it in the FC. Guess I'll put it back on, then.
Primordia comes after pinning?

If your FC has less than 99% humidity then yes.
Pins form from the primordia recieving adequate FAE and proper humidity.

searching Shroomery I've definitely read people saying no FAE till pinning starts.
But others say FAE as soon the casing goes in the FC. Which is it?

Your just covering for a day maybe two to help control evaporation but if your misting enough then leave it off and as RoachMan said primordia are your initial stages of pins you want to have all your pins developed (set) before lowering your humidity, you can tell when they're set as some will have developed reddish/brown to brown caps this indicates this stage is complete. Again GL P.S. remember the myc is not receiving any FAE as long as it is below the surface it can't so FAE is not an issue but as soon as it breaks the surface then is becomes a contributing factor..
