2. skilled mycologists don't want to pay 10 bucks to increase their library ??? I know mycologists that spend hundreds of dollars on a print to increase there print library.

i could understand paying that much for a hard to find print. The one print i'd love to have is one i read about on here and it had a picture, the cap was violet and i guess each vender got a print of it to try getting someone to grow and isolate it and well i guess it just dissapeared. I cant find the thread about it. i read about it late one night while in a different staight of mind.

I can recommend FSRE because they are very dependable and also nice high spirits. Many times I got my free spores within 10 days.
Because Ingrid has broken her leg, Eric has to do, at the moment, the homework and the shopping etc.
As you may know, they deliver spores also to the USA - so why not send to those two extremely brave people some of your surplus spores. I'm sure they would be in heaven when they open your many letters.
www.fsre.nl
As my father used to say: Deliver not to lament. We want to see the postman collapse. He got to ring the bell with his elbows because he carries so many letters from the USA.... from YOU... and YOU... and YOU... and... YOU too?
Good shroom
PS: I do not tell you a big secret, when I write here, that the spores just love to fly across the ocean.... by LSD Airline that is.

Dear all,
I did read a lot of the post above and I like to react.
The FSRE is doing fine for 5 years know, thanks to all donaters and supporters. We did celebrate that with an asome contest for shroomery members only. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=43&Number=6682675&fpart=&PHPSESSID=
We try to answer the many emails we receive daily at the same day.
We did not receive any emails asking if we were doing okee? And our website tells that Ingrid has a severe knee injury and that that takes a lot of our time.
If people wanna start a new spore ring thats super, but do not use the fsre or fsrc to make your cause stronger. Thats no way to deal with things. At least I mis respect in doing like that.
The last year we helped starting a russian and a new argentina ring (#3). Do not know how the are running. This way those people can use there own currancy too. We support all people even those without money.
The FSRC has no strains availeble due to less donations and more request I gues. I did read someting about it on there website. It is hard to keep stock updated but we seem to have a steady stock in numbers right know and we had paneolus strains for more then 7 months. Why not raising prints for the FSRC. With the same energy the FSRC could have had many prints by know
Gues 2 emails to fsrc and frse could have told more than all speculation.

Erik is right... about alot of things here and I couldn't resist posting my comments as well.
The FSRE and FSRC have both been running for 5 years. At times donations are slow and we have both helped each other out the best we can. Both the FSRE and FSRC send prints worldwide. No Exceptions! If another FSR is in the works somewhere... all the better, it's all about sharing, but if they expect it to be easy or profitable, they are in for a shock (and I'm sure Erik will agree).
In regards to the current state of the FSRC... I will address a few concerns.
As it says on the website, we need donations, and have for a long time. For every print that has been coming in, we get 10 requests. Hard to keep up that way. Over 15,000 have been sent out. No... the website has not been updated in a long time, because... lack of donations means no prints added to what is available. No... I have not been posting here much... reason... when I post here, the requests increase, which means a lot more people are left waiting, and complaining how slow things are. No... We have not closed, and hopefully I will have a new update coming for the FSRC in the very near future.
A year ago, anyone requesting a print from the FSRC could expect to see it arrive in a week or so. Simply because the prints were here to be sent out. If you want to see this type of service from the FSRC again... it will require donations from anyone who can donate. The FSRE is under the same restrictions as I am, we need prints to send out. If you want the services to continue in a timely fashion... send in your print donations.
Many people have sent in cash donations (and not even requested a print) and although it is greatly appreciated, and has helped to keep our PO Box alive, we really need the print donations. After all... that's what it is all about, right?
Thanks for listening Shdwstr

Thanks for the reminder to donate some of my prints to FSRC. They seem beleaguered, I've never ordered from them.
The gist of this thread is that operating a spore ring is a shitload of work. The idea isn't remarkable, the amount of work is. God bless FSRE/C for what has to be considerable time invested. If you'd like to start it, start it.
I for one, side with Ralph and others. Getting a syringe that's guaranteed to arrive viable, contributions to this site, and a guaranteed strain are immensely handy.

Not at the FSRC.
Reasons
1.) Papertrail and paypal security rules. 2.) By the time paypal takes their cut, we would lose money on every print sent out.
I'm a nice guy, but I draw the line at losing money :-)

Don't be so strict on formal things... it is not so easy for a flying Dutchman to arrange all sentences in a correct way... maybe it should read: Please send an empty envelope, with your own address on the front-side, to us. Do not put a stamp on your own envelope. We are going to put the stamp on your envelope. That is why we need your 2$ - in order to buy the stamp.

Now that the weather is warmer, I'll be swinging back into donation mode.
