ID.. advice.. hmm
    #7106570 - 06/29/07 09:21 AM (16 years, 8 months ago)

last hunt:...

These were some i found which looked interesting. i think the small ones r Liberties. They were on moss next to the forest. the otherones were in the forest.

Any advice where Lib. Caps grow best in south Germany? (schwarzwald). high/low altitude, high grass/ low grass, temp, ground..

Id appreciate it. if u want a closeup of something just say.

the two little shrooms in the top left of the pic look like libs and I wanna say I can somewhat see some blue brusing... If they are (Psilocybe Semilanceata) then they should have looked a lil' something like this
...
...growing in the grass like u said

As for those other mushrooms they look not to be active :p
I'd say go back to the spot u picked those little mushrooms and try and find more ...take a spore print...make a proper id request and u might have found the ones you're looking for...

...My 2 cents...

Close ups are always helpful.
Spore prints are more than helpful, they are essential. Especially with little brown mushrooms. So get to it :crazy2:

I'd also like to see some closeups of those small mushrooms. Your said they were growing in moss, not grass. I suspect they are not Psilocybe semilanceata, but maybe some other species of psilocybe. They might also be some nasty like Entoloma.

Spore print and bigger pictures will be required to tell.

They are very young and the gills are very white.. i dont know if a spore print is even worth it.. i mean i only got like 1 gram fresh.. lol. I would know a mature Lib. and id probly jump for joy if i found a good portion . they are just too darn rare!! The grass around here is about knee deep, so i would probly not even see one sitting in the grass. (could this be the problem?)

I guess this is eaten. Any more advice on finding them to my earlier q's would be cool. thanks

yeah; those are not semies.

i'm not familiar with your weather, but i realy doubt you'll be finding P. semilanceata before aug/sept at earliest.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.
