Do I mix my spawn and substrate in my glovebox?

Do I mix my spawn and substrate in my glovebox or out in the open? This is my first attempt at casing so forgive me if this is common knowledge, thanks.

No . I mix mine in 5 gallon pickle buckets . Be clean , but no real need for "sterility" . The spawn is colonized and the bulk should be pasteurized , so just be clean when mixing it up .

I believe once your spawn is colonized it is very resistant to contamination. Spray the area with a little bit of lysol first aswell as wash with anti-bacterial soap. Put some rubber gloves on. Basically break up your colonized spawn in a little bag. Get a sterile bucket and mix your spawn/substrate together! You can then place this mixture into a pan and cover with tinfoil and wait for the mycelium to take over again!
Case and fruit!

Ummm lysol is a surface only cleaner not for air (if y memory serves me right)oust is for air or diluted bleach with water.

DON'T USE LYSOL on anything you will be spawning too. Well, unless you want mutants.
Listen to HippieChick.
You are fine as long as you are clean. Sterility at this point is not as important when you were inoculating.
Once the spawn has fully colonized it is very resistant to contams. As long as you pasteurized correctly you will be fine.

Ah thanks for this tip. Should I just spray the area down with bleach/water then aswell as washing with anti-bac soap and I should be good?

Actually I read a post where RR stated that he uses Lysol and Oust liberally and has for years and has never had a mutant because of it. Mutants are caused by genetics.

I just read this also . I , myself , probably go through 20 cans of Oust a month . I have carpet in places I'd rather not , and haven't seen any big number of mutants . I "poke" a hole in the side of a new can and set it on a shelf and bomb my one room before using it .
I actually started out using Lysol , heard that causes mutants but Oust didn't , switched to Oust just to find out neither do , getting my point here ? Don't believe everything you hear , not even if you hear it here , lol .
Things that were common practice 2 years ago aren't anymore , or vica versa
Kinda like Physics . The more we find out about it , the more we realize we don't know about it and everything changes .

Well the main difference in Oust and Lysol is that Oust is a AIR sanitizer and Lysol is a SURFACE sanitizer.
When I first started I used Lysol in my FC and I got mutants bad. Maybe it was genetics.
Lysol has no place in our FC's though. It isn't necessary.
I hear what you are saying though.

Ever since I started using coir I always mix my spawn and substrate right in the sweater box it will be fruiting in,right on the counter, just dump out a jar of spawn, mix with some coir and repeat till its at the depth I like,no glovebox,no Lysol no anything, unless it was dumped to to a contamination issue half the time the sweater box isn't even all that clean looking from the last grow I did in it
