 fresh shrooms in the fridge.how long?

i just harvested a small amount of shrooms and put them in a ziplock bag and into the fridge.i will be eating them on sun or mon night
how long can fresh shroom survive without any loss of potency?

I think the biggest concern with storing in the refrigerator is the chance of rotting, very little potency is lost. I've read around 7 - 10 days.

I thought you had to dry shrooms before refrigerating them. Don't they turn to snot if they are not dried first?

Once they're dried, they can be stored in an air-tight jar at room temperature for a long time. I think he was referring to fresh shrooms. They should be stored in a brown paper bag in the crisper if you have one, make sure they do not rot (max 7 - 10 days) before they are used.

maybe eventually they might "turn to snot", but for the most part they stay crisp and wet for about the same time as any vegetable you put in your fridge. a week or two is pretty safe, but after that they start to rot.
keep 'em crispy! take care...

i don't think they'll turn into "snot" for a while.
think of regular mushrooms. they last a period of time in the fridge fresh. the last time i checked, a mushroom is a mushroom is a mushroom.
it's not like these mushrooms will just blow up if you put them fresh in the fridge.
although... are you eating them fresh??? eeeewwwwww

When you put fresh shrooms in the Freezer......then thaw them out they melt........into snot.

thanks guys.
that was the plan to eat them fresh for the most potency so they say.
i put them in a big brown paper bag and put them in the fridge, all the smaller shrooms and aborts are in a ziplock bag that is open inside the bigger brown bag as well.
thanks guys just wanted to make sure they wont lose potency.

ive frozen my shrooms they stayed great for 2 weeks before I ate them... when I ate them it was cool cause it was hot as shit out and it was like having a shroomcicle.
no really you can freeze them indeffinietly

Frozen shroomcicle huh? Is that a new "Popsicle Pete" flavour
Good thing you ate them frozen because.... when you freeze an active shroom the water in it expands rupturing every cell in it. When it thaws, you do get snot... black snot actually... from all those damaged cells.

First time I ate shrooms uhhh 12 years ago..I guy came to party with a bag of frozen fresh shrooms. Nobody knew the dosage so we just broke off handfuls of "shroomsicles" and ate em up. Glad it was dark outside. I probably would not have tried em.. yeah right.. Yucky but beer made it better. What a night!!! Totally bonkers.

I'd say you can keep 'em in the fridge just like any other mushroom or vegetable.
It is a good idea to keep them fresh, personally I think fresh cubensis taste real good. From all the posts about fresh cubes being disgusting, I thought eating them in a salad would taste real bad, but I was happily surprised to see that it had a taste similar to the other shrooms we're used to eat.

the paper bag method works good for a couple weeks at least.
for real long-term storage,
grow them invitro and just leave them attached and put the entire cake and jar in the fridge.
the invitro fruits will be good for months.

I took a shoe box (any box will do) and made 6 or 7 holes in the top. I took some dissecant that I found in my house ( the kind you find in a beef jerky package) and wrapped it in a paper towel. Then I took a piece of brown paper bag and placed it on top of that and put it in the box. toss some shrooms on top of the paper bag and paper towel/dissecant sandwich.
Works fine...I don't know if this applies to your wanting to refridgerate them though.

Yeah I got like 26g fresh Space Coast I've had in the fridge now for a week. The BRF is on it's 2nd flush. I was wondering though, when I had put the first flush into the fridge I had kept them in a plastic container and locked the lid. It's been this way for a week and was third eyeing to eat them in a few days but from reading all the posts many have said the very thing I'm thinking I've succumb them to....goop. And to be honest they haven't even succumb to it that bad but I can smell a 'needs to be eaten soon or it's back to nature' aroma.
