I have just started to grow these wonderful things. I can tell you, that the key to good production is to be as sterile and clean as possible. Your best bet is to go outside. That one cigarette could poss. ruin all your growth. Good luck.

I smoked around mine (not during innoculation, birthing, harvesting) and no problems. I did loose my case, but it dried out....

It was my first time, so maybe I was lucky...

The smoke contains millions of particulates that are sterile of course, but these particulates might have the potential of picking up unsterile particles on there way through the air and then landing on your cakes or casings. Even if the smoke particulates are too small to pick up contams, they still contain several harmful carcinogens, and tar that I'm sure could cause some mutations in your shrooms. Hmm, would be a nice experiment, try blowing smoke in your terrarium!! :smile:
