KG to the Lakers?

It is definitely a risky move.
But it WOULD be interesting to see LA as a powerhouse of a team again. And having Kobe and KG playing next to each other would be a whole lot of fun to watch.
I know a big issue is the entire "battling egos" thing, but the optimist inside me says kobe's realized the value of having another big star on his team.
This is a bit irrational, but if you've seen some of the past all star games, these two players have shown glimpses of some sort of chemistry. Potential, that's all.
I think it would definitely make things more interesting in the west, rather than KG staying in MIN, which they're trying to do.

yeah i know both teams are interested, but they were interested before the trade deadline last year and couldnt get anything worked out either..
the only way i could see a deal working out is if the lakers give up draft picks and a player or two.. and i dont even remember if they have picks to deal.. i think they have 1 first rounder.

Now it's the Suns. That would be interesting. Phoenix would have to get rid of Amare to do it, though.

i dont know why phoenix would want KG.. KG is much older than Amare and Amare is really starting to come into his own.. idk i think Phoenix is in fine shape. they are pretty solid and pretty deep. they just got beat by the best team in basketball.

Because they obviously aren't winning with what they have right now. It's the latest rumor though, three way trade with Atlanta. Hawks get Amare, Timberwolves get picks, suns get Garnett. I would like to see that a lot, actually. Plus that'd be tons of fucking young talent in Atlanta.

No, Marion is involved in the Celtic talks, Amare is involved in the Atlanta/Suns talks.

i just dont see phoenix dealing Amare a young talent for KG who really doesnt have that many seasons left in him.
i dont know why atlanta is interested either, i believe they have 2 of the top 10-15 picks this year.. id like to see them take Mike Conley Jr. to run the point and a big center.. they could do kinda what chicago did, and get lots of youth and continue to develop and build around them.
chi and atlanta have 2 of the youngest teams in the league. id love to see atlanta make something of their franchise.

i agree with the fact that for minnesota hes a waste of money, they dont have any talent around him to help him reach the post season.
however KG is still a great player, and a team like the Lakers could ride him deep into next years playoffs.
so its not KG thats a waste of money, its the Minnesota organization that is a waste of resources. come on, they have had Garnett forever and they havent been able to build around him at all.

Heh, I remember when they had Cassel and Spreewell.
that was a pretty solid team.
Damnit now they're saying him going to LA is a big improbability....woulda loved to have seen it..
Now I gotta settle for another lackluster season of lazy ass Kwame.

speaking of casell, i really love the clippers, ever year.. idk why.. i really enjoy watching elton brand play. even in college.
with LA not getting KG, i think they increases the chance of them losing Kobe as well.. lets not forget that Kobe wanted traded not but 2 weeks ago unless they got talent in there for NOW, not 5 years down the road.

Agreed in full.
The best players they ever surrounded him with was Sprewell, Cassell, and Olowakandi (I don't know if I spelled his name right and I don't care. He sucks.) This is certainly not elite talent. Even with this mediocre help, he made a good push into the playoffs.

ha, i love the Nets. not at all. they are about as smart as boston right now.
Vince Carter has 1 year at 16 million left on his contract, which he opted out of to become a free agent. but Nets owner/ president Rod Thorn is trying to sign him to a 4 year 60+ million dollar deal. this is just another huge contract (if signed) that is going to blow up in their face. Vince Carter is no longer a franchise player. IMO

idk, this could actually be good for boston and really help sell some tickets.
they now have ray allen, paul pierce, and kevin garnett.. they might know what they are doing in Boston after all.

Hmm, idk they have a pretty weak division and are going to be much better than last season.
KG and Pierce should be a nice scoring duo. Ray Allen is still good even though he is aging.

we just have different values for KG.. I think hes a great player who has never had the help.. I think when you add 2 scorers like Ray Allen and Paul Pierce to the puzzle then you have a dominant scoring machine.

KG is stupid for taking this deal.
All that talk about not wanting a trade unless its to a contender...And then you go to BOSTON?
Its so sad that he played 12 years in Minnesota and we didn't get to see what he was really capable of, and now he's going to fucking BOSTON?
It would have been nice to see what you could do KG.
I dont know anyone who thinks that Ray Allen and Paul Pierce together make a team a contender. What is Ray Allen? 50?
There arent enough shots in a game for the three of those guys to get comfortable.
This will be a train wreck.

I don't know man, the East fucking sucks. KG and Allen and Pierce should be good enough to contend for a year or two at least.
However, did you see what the trade was? KG for Gerald Green, Sebastian Telfair, Al Jefferson, Theo Ratliff, Ryan Gomes and two first round players. That's a whole fucking basketball team.

Ray Allen is only 32... i know you were exaggering with 50, but keep in mind he played 55 games last season and averaged 40 minutes per game with over 26 points per game. not to mention hes pretty good 3 ball shooter.
Pierce added another 25 points per game
you add Garnett, a forward who can rebound exceptionally, and his 24 points per game.
thats 75 points out of 3 guys. thats a 3 headed monster. keeping them healthy will be the only issue I forecast.
i could see boston getting a wild card in the east.

Man, this is heated lol. I agree, this could be a train wreck. I mean, I don't believe in jinxs', but a LOT of great players have hit 30ish and all of a sudden.... boom!!! and gone. BUT, if they stay healthy, the garden WILL rock, the city will be buzzing from day one, and if they can catch a year (or 2) of health, they'll come up great. On the other hand....
