Weird LC recipe
    #7093904 - 06/26/07 07:48 AM (16 years, 7 months ago)

http://www.google.com/patents?hl=en&lr=&vid=USPAT5934012&id=cPECAAAAEBAJ&oi=fnd&dq=growing+mushrooms
I`ll Try To make sense out of that mumbo jumbo:

The idea (I think)is to build microcapsules, then add those to water to make an LC solution

Ingredients:
The microcapsules contain:
-50-80% polyunsaturated vegetable oil (soya bean oil, cottonseed oil, safflower oil.)

- a surfactant; ratio:1% and 5% by weight of the oil
(choline phosphatides, ethanolamine phosphatides, mixtures of choline and ethanolamine phosphatides, and choline and ethanolamine phosphatides containing hydroxylated fatty acids.)

-a dairy or vegetable protein which comprises between about 20% and 50% of the dry weight of the microcapsule.(whey protein concentrates, caseinates and soy protein concentrates.)

-a Group II metal salt which comprises between about 0-1% and 0.5% of the dry weight of the microcapsule. (calcium chloride)

-a salt of an organic acid between about 0.05% to 0.1%
(sodium acetate)

-potato infusion resultant from the use of about 250 grams of peeled potatoes per liter of water.

-autolyzed yeast extract (20 grams/liter medium)

-a source of carbohydrate.
(dextrose having a concentration of about 10 g/l 40 DE corn syrup having a concentration of about 35 g/l, and honey having a concentration of about 15 g/l.)

-added to water in an amount of between about 80% and 92% ratio.

Fermentation:
Airlift Fermenter:
A container with an inlet and outlet hole and a tube attaching the two holes with a pump and gas sparge; so the lc is circulating on alternate days for 2 to 20 minutes. and a sheer valve and draft tube somewhere (whatever that is) Draft tube is for airflow.

(sparge def: To introduce air or gas into a liquid.)

mycelia are harvested at about eleven days after inoculation or
when the fluorescence is about 45 units.

Out of everything cultivation related I have ever done Lc is by far the easiest thing to make.It has two ingredients aside from spores and needs nothing you don't already have unless your out of spores(Or don't have a stove):slitwrist:

I believe you may get more help posting this in advanced cult:thumbup:

Meh, seems like a regular LC with a bunch of additives in a fancy contraption. Potato dextrose agar is sugar and potato and this recipe has sugar and potato. A dairy protein; could be linked with milk dunk
and Veg. oil is a known additive for cakes.

Yeah...

Good idea, and no doubt optimal for your LC. But we don't really care about optimal anything with LCs. Ease of use, and already-germinated spores. No need to get the most you can from it; it will be transferred to non-liquid, far more fertile grounds, and that's the point.
