I use to be a member of this site long ago but forgot my screen name and password, I am happy to rejoin. My room ate and I are going to start growing too.
I've had experience with hallucinogenic mushrooms over 50 times, although only a few times this year. I've also been interested in Mycology for around 4 years and am actually considering taking it on as a double major along with film/video.
I've done a lot of research on what spore syringes I should buy. After reading up on a lot of helpful info (particularly in this thread) I've decided to go with the PES Amazonian due to it's abundant fruiting. It's also good for beginners so I hear.
Any tips before I begin my cultivation?
I've already got a list of supplies and I'm one click away from starting my expedition! The excitement is unbearable!

Welcome back bro!
There's a ton of tips you can find on here, for sure. This thread probably isn't where you're going to find them though
Search "PESA," and you'll see there's a ton of great info. Or you can start a new thread if you have some specific quesitons that haven't been answered already.
Good luck! Mycology is an all-consuming hobby/pursuit/life!

Edit: I just searched under the site, just some pictures and a trip log.
Should I google?

Cubes are cubes are cubes are cubes. I personally think "strains" are bullshit and are just used to get money for spore companies. I mean i guess there could be SLIGHT differences in naturaly occuring cubes in different places in the world, but they are barley noticable. The fruits are determinded by the substrate, and growing conditions, not just cause they fruited from special spores that came from the moon or something.
But the thing that really gets me is when people claim that a certain strain is more potent than another. Thats just bs. Maybe a batch is better than another one because one was grown shittily. All cubensis have the same potency potential. A CUBENSIS IS A CUBENSIS. Dont get suckered in by TASMANIAN EQUI/AMAZON K++ ORANGE MEANIE ANTARCTIC SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS. Just grow some damn cubes.

I'm a believer that different strains have a different ride. I've grown many different strains in the same conditions and, yeah there is a bit of a difference in each.
Main thing with different strains is how they grow. Some grow large, some grow small, some grow few, some grow in abundance. Some have a distinct body high some are more known for visuals. Some are a mind fuck some aren't at all.
I guess its all an opinion. Yes genetics play the key role in potency. This is why we isolate and clone. Your best bet is to get a tried and true strain and then clone you a nice looking fruit and play from there.

I don't believe I have ever even heard of R44 Both B+ and Golden Teacher are known to pretty hardy beginner strains to start off with although I have seen complaints every now and than with the colonization speed of B+

I've had many different kinds of cubes. YES, it does matter how you grow them, but there is definitely a noticeable difference in types of body highs, visuals, and mind altering attributes depending on the cube.
But you also have to weigh in the factor oh how the individual persons body reacts to the mushrooms. It's almost impossible to differentiate the effects from one person to another in terms of making opinions and facts about whether a mushroom is more potent than another.
All in all, the differences are minor to the fact that mushrooms are a wonderful thing, and we should all be eating them right now, lol.

I have a few cubensis strains going right now. At the moment my favorites are Costa Rica and Penis Envy Hybrid (Sporeworks). The costa rica's are nice for bulk and are pretty contam resistant and the penis envy's are good for some lower yield high potency grows.
Peace

For a new grower, wanting fast colinization, large flushes, and a potent mushroom, what mushroom do you recommend they cultivate?
