The "whispy" parts you are talking about is rhizomorphic growth. This is good, i have heard you get better yeilds when there is a lot of rhizomorphic growth. Im not sure how true this is, though.

Do you really get better yields when there is rhizomorphic growth? My jar has only rhizomorphic growth.
