All u do is open it up a couple times a day and spray it with water. You can put a damp paper towel on the bottom too. As far as I know that's all you have to do.

Man! screw that pop bottle idea! just find an icecream bucket and put a little bit of perlite in the bottom, that way you can just open the lid and fan every so often

I'm growing a cake in a poorman's and it's doing great. there are primordia all over it and it's growing quickly. The only problem I'm having is the stems are FAT but the caps have hardly grown any. Think it's because it's getting to much moisture, but I'm not sure. good luck!

The TMC says long stems + underdeveloped caps are caused by insufficient air-exchange for oxygen or insufficient lighting.

Perlite really is a miracle. Just put some wet perlite under some dry perlite, than put a cake on top. Maybe two. In a $5 tupperware container. Fan it once a day, no biggie if you forget to. I was fine with that. It worked wonders.

I must agree that tupperware and perlite are the way to go for an inexpensive way to grow.

I use the poormans terrarium and I will not go back to cool mist. With cool mist I got less yeild, smaller shrooms, and less potent ones. I think the perlite was better for humidification.
