I've taken the liberty to take care of the php/db coding, ill let one of the designers take care of the interface. But what kinda ideas do you guys have for improvements.
Current plans include searching, editing, good/bad trip rating, expanding the current rating from 1-5 to 1-10, intensety, newest additions, highest rated, moderation system, and whatever good suggestions can be made.

Maybe a short interesting quote from the document could be under each report. Maybe..

Sounds good...I hope this happens soon. I love to see all the effort being put into this community.

Ok, here's my beef with the Trip reports. It seems to me (and I emphasize 'seems') that the ratings are just random changing numbers. My trip report was rated 4.4 after 20 ratings, then I check back and it's 2.7 after 30 ratings. This is not mathematically possible. Even if the last ten people gave me a zero for some reason it should be 2.9. Not that I am choked that people don't seems to like my report as much, it's not terribly important, but it raised my suspicions. There are new trip reports with 68 ratings and averages of 0.4 when they aren't even those awful, uppercase-free "b4-u-reed-my-trip-u-should-no-dis" documents. (end of rant)
Ok, as for suggestions: 1-10 rating system would be cool
It would also be cool to be able to pull your own report if you made a mistake or posted it twice by accident. I guess that would be like editing, but if you edit a report after it has been rated, then the ratings reflect the earlier version
What about being able to surf the reports by criteria such as date of submission or alphabetically?
I always thought it would be awesome to have a 'Hall of Fame' of sorts for those classic reports that everyone should read. Maybe there would be some kind of "Nominate this report for the Hall of Fame" checkbox after the report has met certain parameters (# of ratings, average rating, time online) and if a report is nominated in this way X times it could go on the page.
Anyway those are a few things I'd like to see. I'll add more as I think of them.

i noticed the same thing

The only problem with this is, it would require a user/login system. Keeping the reports anon is my main concern while adding good features. The editing was to me more of a moderator command to pull names, address (yes ive read reports with REAL addresses, looked em up in the phone book) ages and other things that do require the entire report be deleted.

I plan on adding sort by just about anything.

good idea, im thinking of maybe having a "Top 5" for each level, and a top 5 over all.

I think the rating system is flawed, I for some reason could vote multiple times for my own trip report way back when.

Ok one more thing I forgot to mention but would really really like to see: a bigger text field for the title of the report. Not too long or anything, 40 characters or something.
Can't wait to see the new stuff you're doing.

I think the rating system is flawed, I for some reason could vote multiple times for my own trip report way back when.
without keeping track of IP's any type of rating fraud system would be hard to implement, it can be pretty easily done with cookies by keeping track of witch reports were voted on already, but the user can delete these on their own and re-vote. But again without keeping track of IP's this seems like the only way to keep rating fraud to a minimum.
I could be wrong on the above, if so let me know so i can learn another way to do it.
