Well I had a 3 week old cake that had produced only 5 mushies so I cut it in half lengthwise. I sat the flat ends on perlite and now its pinning. But its pinning the wrong way. The muishies are pinnig sideways.Will this affect my mushies? Will they bend upwards and grow toward the light? Its growing mycellia all over the cake now and looks promising.

Mushrooms will grow toward the light, regardless of where they're pinning (unless they're on the bottom of the cake).
