My friend is a know it all and he is the kind of person that kind of jumps head first into things and now he is wondering if everything is going to be ok with his first batch of EQ's......heres his situation...he got 6 pf style cakes of EQ and 1 cake of CREEPERS to colonize about 80-95 percent. His girlfriend saw some grey cobwebey type shit on one of the jars and told him he should birth all of them so they all dont go bad...(shes highly pyshic so he listens) he then cold shocked them in the fridge for around 24 hrs then he took them out, cut out all the uncolonized and crumbled them up. He put them in a tray on top of a half inch layer of perlite...he didnt want to case with jiffy mix(50/50 w/lime) because he didnt want the mycelium to pin and for them to rot... what should he do at this point? Case? Wait to case after first flush? He managed to set up a perfect grow chamber w/ perlite and fish bubbler humidity stays at 95% and temp at 75-78 and he runs a cool mist every couple of hours to help air flow(for some strange reason the cool mist lowers the humidity in the chamber, and when he tried to run just the cool mist the humidty only would get up to 62 at highest. he is only using a 12inch garden hose). He would greatly appreciate help....

1. Don't birth early. EVER. It's even worse to do so if there are contams in your substrate.
2. Don't trust psychics.
3. Case as soon as you crumble your cakes. You want the mycelium to grow through the casing and then pin on top.
4. Get ahold of a tek that sounds like you can reasonably follow it to the letter and then FOLLOW IT TO THE LETTER.

He would rather make his girlfriend happy and lose one batch then make her feel like shit and have the first batch go good...if youve ever really been in love you would understand...they didnt have acess to the computer to research so they went on a hunch..
the crumbled cakes all have contaminate-free myco growing over should he case now or see if they fruit?? please someone just answer this, he already has some new cakes incubating but he wants to save this one, is there any advice??
