how much light?

i dunked a dozen jars and cold shocked them in the frig at the same time, now they are in the terrarium. i have an 18 in fluro light about 3 ft above them. how much light is needed for them to start pinnin? right now i give them about 6-8 hrs. is this too much or how long should they be under the light?

That's probably a sufficient amount of time. The only reason they need light at all is to know that it's time to grow and to know which way to grow. 6-8hrs ought to be just peachy, though my cat uses a 12/12 cycle.

TMC states that shrooms pinned normally with only a few NANOseconds of light each day. so a flick of light should be enough to get the m to pin although it is standard practice to do slightly more than that. good luck.

I have left my light on for 3 days traight on accident left on vacation came home and i had more then pin. I had 1in shrooms all over.

There is no set time, in growing anything its what feels right to you. For instance when growing persay flowers outside, does mother nature keep the same schedule daily. Only gets dark at so time. My suggestion is mimic the outside. in the morning open it up a little, in the afternoon open all the way let light get in and when the sun goes down, close it.
