Awe
    #707770 - 06/28/02 10:55 AM (22 years, 3 months ago)

Awe-
This is a feeling numbed by Reason...
Love-
This encompasses all things, including Reason,
and thus has the power to bring us back into a state of Awe.
Everything around us can certainly be explained by Reason, but in many different ways.
This seperation or conflict is an illusion.
Reason is what has led us into the Many,
Love is what is leading us back into the One.
Love is all reasons and explanations.
Love has a place for all things,
Because love is all things.
Think far back, how you felt as a child.
Innocence. Un-tainted by reason or logical explanations.
Every moment was lived IN the moment, without thinking about the past or future.
This is what we must remember.
To be totally IN the moment will transcend the illusion of seperation.
How can we do this?

Life is a test with only two answers:
Fear or Love.
Choose Love and become One.
Live life as One, long orgasm...
Let it flow,
Let it go.

Nice post, but I have to make a comment on this:

Awe-
This is a feeling numbed by Reason...

Not sure how you come to the conclusion that these are mutually exclusive. Look at the lives of my two favorite men from the last century: Ghandi and Einstein.

From their words and biographies, they were both incredibly rational men yet were very deep spiritually. I would tend to believe that they found awe in life more than most, yet were deeper thinkers than most.

The proof is in the pudding.

I only recognized like 3 whole characters, and only one out of the complex characters of the few, so my guess is probrably way off.

A hard ass language it is to learn. Very complex.

I think the general theme in the characters around that YY.. is the continuous flow of everything as a cycle..

But yeah I'd really like someone fluent in chinese to interpret it.. that is the Jeet Kune Do symbol..

definitely hard, it seems like I can pick up italian, spanish, or french, in a couple months, but what books you study? I'm studying john defrancis' works,, he's got a six volume set, I only finished one. he also has accompanying tapes to all the books, plus he wrote a couple history books, one is "Chinese Language, Fact and Fiction" I read that, so if you want any of my old stuff, feel free. I'm about to be done with the tapes to the first one too, thas a real long study. just the first book,, also, I got access to mandarin chinese video (are you learning mandarin?) which is impossible to find on the east coast. chinese videos' help alot.

I'm also learning Mandarin..
I have a book by Cheng & Tsui.. I study with my friend mostly.. he has several books.

But I like to go to the chinese stores and talk to the people there... they are usually very happy that a white person is trying to learn chinese and like to help. The thing that really gets me is the pin-ying.. but I think its called something else... how if you pronounce one word differently it will mean something entirely different.

you definitely need some tapes,, cuz I doubt you can find someone to accurately repeat the almost homosounding words back and forth, and over and over again.

I never heard of those guys,, defrancis is famous, he lives here, I have yet to attend any lectures though. I never seen any chinese stores in md.

anyways, you know any scripts to type chinese in this forum? or by email? thas what I am trying to figure out now,,, I think I found the right software now,, but I have'nt checked it,, there is so many,, but like you said, you got to use it to learn it. Hongomon is returning to china soon, and we are working on some scripts, bbs, etc.. something, to try and open up some language exchange.

Most chinese I talked with say that they just got the software standard with chinese windows, which is expensive like 800 dollars! anyways if you want to try to makes some friends,, sina.com, thatsshanghai, thatsbeijing, and all the other affiliated websites, are a good start.

In reply to:

Don't get me wrong... being rational and reasonable are important, necessary growth steps- everyone must take them. But there comes a point where these can be transcended. Either temporarily (falling in love, for example), or permanently. By transcended I do not mean the abandonment of reason, but an overcoming of it. A re-awakening of our inner child does not mean we become ignorant, it means we become entranced in the awe and wonder of every aspect of life.

all the world be may players and the world be my play
grip tightly your illusions as not to slip away

love is our pure nature
it be our true nature that we seek to destroy

for thy world operate on fear

love is thy oneness i feel, not that partner i fuck
