Wheres my Primordia?

Hallo, I'm a first time grower using the PF Tek and alls been going well so far. 8 jars no contamination (whoopwhoop!) but the mycelium has been growing for well over a month now and I still got no primordia. So, WTF basically. Am I just being too eager to once again throw open my third eye or is something up? The most advanced cake is shrinking too, like the mycelium's eating it away. Normal?

YEh its normal for the cake to shrink.

Are your jars fully colonized? Have you induced fruiting conditions? The mycelium is eating away at the brf you've got in your cakes. Cakes do tend to shrink as the mycelium takes hold.

Two jars are fully colonized and have been for about three weeks, no sign of primordia though. I don't know how to induce fruiting conditions, whats it about? Their not in the FC yet because I've been waiting for the primordia to appear. Would it affect the fruiting yield if I put them in now?

That's why you have no primordia/pins. After full colonization, air exchange is the number one pinning trigger.

Remove the cakes from the jars, and wash them well under the faucet. Then place them in a pot of cold water and use something to weight the cakes down so they sink. Allow to soak for 24 to 36 hours, and then rinse again. Roll in dry verm and place into your fruiting chamber. Mist the cakes well to wet the dry verm. Mist a few times daily. You should see pins within a couple of days after that.

Nothing to add except to complain that I have the hardest time finding something to keep them suckers under the water when I dunk.  Seems like none of my plates fit my containers just right.
