Waiting to Inhale (Trailer)
Waiting to Inhale(Full Documentary)
I'm watching it right now.(well I paused it to pour some coffee and post, but so far it's really good)
If anyone knows where I can find a working torrent for that new coffee documentary called Black Gold I would appreciate it.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'll see you after the movie.

One researcher said marijuana caused central nervous system toxicity and should not be allowed. When asked what he meant by "Central Nervous System Toxicity," which is a scary word, he said, "drowsiness."

This is a great video so far, I'm only half way through.
Someone should find the video for Penn & Teller's "Bullshit" episode about the Drug War.

That's a great book on the Drug War. It also touches on prostitution and migrant labor. It's overall about the US black market, but the drug section was particularly interesting.

Glad you guys like it. I had to share it.... after even 10 minutes I thought, shit I have to post a link to this.
Thanks for the sticky OMR, everyone should see this. Even though I'm Canadian, I'm not isolated from reality. The sooner things change on both sides of the boarder the better.
We influence you to an extent.... and every time we want to loosen our drug laws "you" bully and threaten us. So ya... what I'm trying to say is we are all in this together. Even if we in Canada have it much better for the time being.
Anyway.... it's pretty sick when you see(or are reminded of ) the cruelty and stubbornness in which federal agencies will deny medicine to the gravely ill, and those suffering with incurable diseases.
I will admit it makes me very sad. Sometimes, when I really feel for the person as they lay down their situation and life story it makes me quite upset. And I cry....
When I think about what that would be like, or hear about cops(D.E.A. etc) busting grows, or opening their fucking mouths to let that excrement they call morality slither out, I get angry.
It's that anger that keeps me going, growing, and active.
Remember, if you don't speak up nothing will change. Every action counts. Do something, Anything.

DOOD, I know Miguel Santistevan personally. That scene where the kids are holding shovels is infront of the highschool I used to attend.
Anyway, this is an incredibly well-done documentary. Informative on both sides of the issue.

Damn good documentary. The way they focused and compiled their facts are indisputable. I watched it all the way up until the credits. I need to go back and see what their sources were. I like having ammo and factual information when defending such tabboo positions.

I'm pretty sure I am going to order the DVD of this film. I've never spoken to my mom about marijuana, but as I try and get more involved in the campaign for medical marijuana in NY State, I want her to know about it - and I think I'll start by showing her this film.

It's a good and informative enough to show people that haven't informed themselves already. Show it to her. Usually pro-pot documentaries are geared toward the choir, but this isn't really a pro-pot anything... it's pro-medicine.

Well. I stickied this before having watched the film in its entirety. Now that it's done I'm definitely not ashamed to say I cried more than once. While sitting in my cubicle at work, no less. Thank god for downtime.
That was just so powerful.
I went to the bathroom to dry my eyes and all I could keep saying aloud to myself was, "I want to do something. I want to do something." And I swear I will. I will.
I'm going to contact the filmmakers behind the movie and see about a bulk order of DVD's, I'll spend my own money on it I don't care. And if it is too expensive for me to afford, then I'm going to find a friend with a DVD-R and order one copy and start making my own. And then I'm going to give a copy to everyone I know. And then I'm going to start leaving them places.
This bullshit can't continue.

Our government is so incredibly biased, ignorant, and bought out that it really disgusts me. Even though voting might not help our elections it's up to every pothead out there to get out there and hit the polls, people's lives could be spared immense pain and suffering for just 30 minutes at your local polling place! Not to mention this could lead to legislation that makes our lifestyle a lot more enjoyable with a lot less paranoia.
They've raided a number of clinics in California since that documentary has been made, there's tons of legal loopholes that allow the federnazi's to confiscate shit. Anyone who has their clinic raided should immediately go out there and protest!!

That movie was too gut wrenchingly medically driven. I mean, fuck just letting sick ass people have it. Marijuana is not dangerous at all.

Legalizing marijuana for medicinal use is the most realistic first step towards blanket decriminalization.

"Hopefully the cruelty of folks running from fear and making laws that hurt so bad will change at some point and we'll known that it's...it's sad." - Elizabeth Gips
Watching that elderly woman say that with tears in her eyes almost made me cry. Honestly. That was probably one of the most moving things i've ever witnessed. If i could, i would chain the drug czar to a chair with his eyelids sewn open and force him to watch that clip for days on end until he died for the injustices that he's performed on so many goodhearted people needing treatment.
No matter how much i love smoking weed, i would completely give it and all drugs up if only people like Elizabeth Gips could get the treatment that they so desperately need.
America fucking blows. And thank you so much for the link to the video.

The Wo/Men's Alliance For Medical Marijuana, which was the collective that was raided at the beginning of the film, runs solely on donations.
I love to support them whenever I can. They provide medical marijuana on a donation basis to the terminally ill, and can barely keep their doors open.
Please go to http://www.wamm.org and give them some love!!!
