How to Sterilize Air?

Theoretically speaking....
I have a batch of bird seed I am preparing acording to:

I've got an ecuador syringe from:

My question is...
How do you draw in sterilized air in the syringe? The solution needs to be shaken around a little. I have access to a nice gas stove so its easy enough to draw air through the flame. That should be cool, right?
