yeah, i dont see why oats wouldnt have any endospores, especially since its usually processed and stored in the same facilities as the other grains.

i was planning on soaking them, im not a big fan of simmering. i seem to screw that up more than just soaking.

That guy's tek might work for WBS, but it sure as hell won't work for popcorn like he told the guy in the replies, nor will it probably work for rye/wheat. At least I don't think so--popcorn doesn't absorb water as easily as millet, and neither will other large grains. Plus, he doesn't even seem to know why he's adding the lime. I guarantee you he doesn't know what endospores are, from reading this, which is why he cut out the longer soak.

I don't see why people are so against a 24 hour soak. It's not like you're doing anything to it for those 24 hours...

I can't say I am impressed with mycotopia from any the links I've followed. It's what Shroomery would be without all our amazing veterans. The myopic leading the blind. If I'd started there instead, sure, I'd have had a successful grow now and then, but I'd know nothing about the hobby.
