Has anyone tried "Jungle Mix" in a casing?

I was wondering if anyone has tried out this stuff called ESU Reptile Jungle Mix Lizzard litter? I just cased with it maby 2 or 3 days ago and i am starting to see mycelum colonising (sp?) it. It is "a unique blend of sterilized virgin organic soil, fine grain sand, vermiculite, peat moss, orchid bark, and green tree moss." Can anyone tell me how this compares to coir in terms of results. Does the mix sound like a good combonation for a casing?

It looks interesting....did you nuke it before you used it? (I know they said the soil was steralized, but by the sounds of it that stuff will grow stuff!).
Also, if you can buy this, surely you can also get coco coir for reptile bedding? Or was that not the case? (Just curious, not a flame).

I'm using that same stuff right now on a casing and it seems to work really well. The mycelium tore right through it in about 2 days. I removed all the chunks of bark though. -Bruiser

No, i didnt sterilize or pasturize. I assumed it is sterile but i guess i will find out soon, wont I. I also did buy some coco coir but this just has lots of ingredients instead of just coir, and i just wanted to try it out for my first casing. Hopefully it is sterile and my first casing turns out a success. THE INGREDIENTS ARE LISTED IN MY FIRST POST IN QUOTES. There are several big chunks of bark that i removed too. So thats one extra thing to do if your a lazy person.

Moe, if you're ever up my way, you're more than welcome to pop in and try some "Jungle Mix" buddies of mine. This is my first time using this mix and I did 2 casings of Creeper just to try it out. I lost one to mites. (See my post in the contam forum) This casing seems to be doing well so far. The mycelium tore through it pretty quick. I'm getting ready to pin real soon, so I'll keep you guys updated. -Bruiser
