mycelium growing over verm layer
    #7047943 - 06/14/07 10:34 PM (16 years, 9 months ago)

What are the possible problems if after dunking and rolling, the mycelium grows over the top of the verm, but there is no pinning? I'm looking at a cake that has pretty well covered the "dunk and roll" verm layer with mycelium, but no pinning.

Would it have anything to do with the fact that I dunked for 48 hours instead of 24-36?

Any thoughts?

Sounds pretty natural to me. Cakes generally revert to mycelial growth after a good dunk, I'd imagine they're re-establishing themselves for fruiting. Unless your cake has been sitting in the ol' FC for weeks now, your straight. Become friends with patience  and you should see pins in no time. Peace :mushroom2:
