ID Request - Australia NSW
    #7047991 - 06/15/07 12:49 AM (13 years, 10 months ago)

Habitat: wood bark garden beds - located near pine trees and a small creek (Amanitas growing nearby). Other
species of mushroom growin nearby (Amanitas and some red stropharia (?))

Gills: Light brown in colour, gills are free. Some mushrooms had bluing gills around outer edge of cap.

Stem: White in colour with very noticable bluing/blue brusing on stem. 2-3cm in height.

Cap: Light brown in colour, some bluing noticable around outer edge of cap on some mushrooms. Wavy caps developing on
some, others are more concave but still slightly wavy around outer cap edge.

Bruising: Blue bruising very noticable on stems all over

Location: Eastern NSW, Australia

Anyone Auusies seen this species before and know if they are active? I am leaning more towards non active, but the bluing on
the stems is very noticable which has me interested. These do not look like the P. Subaeruginosa that I have been picking in a different
location nearer to the NSW coast, but I would be stoked if these turned out to be active.

Cheers guys,

M

I dunno man but all the different shapes of subs has got me weirded out at the moment. My friend sampled some of last week's finds and said that they were pretty weak.

The shape of those look like these dried ones i found originally:

And these were potent as hell...

Are you sure the gills are totally free and what's the spore print colour?

Yea they look like subs to me. The blue bruising combined with their colouring and shape is a pretty strong indication that they are active.

Definately Sub. Good bluing -- possibly quite potent.

100% sure you have P.Subs there msanchez420
The Blue Bruising is very obvious and the colour and shape all look fine to me
Congrats Brother:thumbup:

Amazing the different types of subs around oz, although they have some main characteristics they can vary so much, what a great shroom to have growing in our lands.

Thanks for the ID guys, I was almost certain that they were no good  It is indeed amazing how much variation there is for subaeruginosa depending on region, I have seen some strange subs over the last few years. If anyone else has any more input it would still be welcomed  Thanks guys
