Suppose one had a 500cfm blower at static pressure of zero What would the cfm values be at the following static pressures for both a 1 by 2ft filter and a 2 by 2ft filter: 1by2 2by2 0.5sp= ?cfm and ?cfm 0.9sp= ?cfm and ?cfm 1.0sp= ?cfm and ?cfm 1.5sp= ?cfm and ?cfm Does this make sense?

Your question is theoretically unanswerable. In order to get an answer, someone would have to reproduce your setup, and then measure with an airflow meter, as there are not any formulas to calculate actual airflow. Also, your airflow is determined by the flow characteristics of your filter. IE. a 2X2 filter made of cotton is going to flow better than 2x2 of duct tape. Bottom line answer is that there is no answer, other than buying an airflow meter and finding out.

Or getting the blower and filter charts of your particular set.

That still won't answer your question though, so don't waste your time.

The static pressure at a given flow rate has to come from the manufacturer. If you have a rated blower, it will be on the spec sheet. RR

He's asking what his flow is going to be based on his filter though, which he won't be able to tell without actually testing it, unless the manufacturer has some type of standardized testing using standardized, regularly available filters.

The manufacture puts out a chart that shows rate of flow, at different static pressures. If you have X amount of static pressure, you will have Y amount of flow, regardless of filter. In place of a filter, the static pressure could be caused by a building, duct work, etc. However, filter and motor must be matched to get the right performance. Anno linked to his site where there's some good charts. This has also been covered in countless threads already, so all the calculations have been demonstrated several times. A 'search posts' will find them easily. RR
