it is quite possible, lighting was poor due to canopy cover but they were on the same pile of logs and both orange with pink gills so i assumed...rookie mistake  i'm getting ready to go out here in an hour or so, just after sun-up so i can get to where i'm going before it's too hot.

1) Could be almost anything, very cool though
2) Mycena leaiana
3) Clitocybe gibba or closely related species

Hate to burst your bubble regarding the Mycena leaiana ID, but that species has a distinct characteristic of white spores, however these all produced pink spores  i'm gonna head down there tomorrow to hopefully find better examples and get some pictures of the prints for you

Hmmm, those don't look like Mycena to me. Pluteus seems likely. Are the gills of the orange/yellow mushrooms attached to the stem?

I still say they are Orange Mycenas; I have seen thousands of clusters of them. Brightly colored Pluteus are very rare in Ohio, and when I find them they are always growing signly, not in clusters. Orange mycenas on the other hand are ubiquitous. They ooze an orange liquid that stains your hands if you pick them. I would have to see the spore print to determine if it is really pink, or if the paper was merely stained by the juices of the mushroom.

The orange pigment can also wash out of the mushrooms if it rains on them, leaving a dingy yellow mushroom with pink gills.

I dunno Dan, those really don't looke like Mycena to me at all.

I'm gonna bet on Pluteus, or perhaps Entoloma if the gills are attached.

Those can't be Pluteus because they are growing in dense clusters and just don't have the Pluteus look about them.

A close up photo of the underside of the cap would be nice to look at.

If they turn out to be something other than Mycena, I'll send you an ovoideocystidiata print.
