Musroom hunting gear?

I was thinking of mounting a box to my mountain bike and going out shrooming through peoples fields riding my bike. Has anyone else done similar and if so, what were your results in comparison to hunting on foot?

Since I've never done it my opinion probably means nothing to you, but I just wanted to say that that sounds freaking awesome, I didn't even think about using my bike, it would be so great around here.

Everyone's opinion matters, we're a community of like minded individuals at the Shroomery.

My only concern would be the trail you leave through the feilds. Farmer Bob might not like it. Could lead to problems the second trip out to the field. But what the fuck do I know...

Having some farming experience, this wouldn't really be an issue, as pastures where cattle roam typically only grow grass. Just stay out of his crops, and he probably won't even notice the trail.

Fresh mushrooms don't respond well to bumpy rides... just something to think about on the return trip.

I've always been a fan of the Straight 8, available through dealers of electra bikes. Pics on this page, under "Cruisers", then "Straight 8"

umm... i dont think the war on drugs was in full swing in the late 18th - early 19th century. (unless you are not talking about the 'famous' thomas paine, but someone else who has the same name)
that is all.

they don't respond to nonpermeable or semi-nonpermeable materials cutting off thier respiration either. if i ever had to pad/wrap mushrooms for prolonged travel on rough paths/roads, i would go with breathable cotton and a basket of sorts.

I really don't give a fuck if the shrooms are responsive to rough trails, I put all my psilocybins in a gallon jar anyway, then put the lid on. I then get them home, usually black mush by then, and make shroom tea with my finds right out of the jar.
