good casing

Whats something that I can mix with vermiculite for a good, simple casing? Does anyone have any casing teks(Besides 'Casing for Dummies')?
Also, is there someway I can put Perlite in with my casing to keep the humidity up? Perlite is the only thing at my disposal to use for humidity purposes, but I also want to use casing instead of putting cakes directly on perlite. Also, I would like to use only 1 container to hold everything if possible(Instead of putting my casing in a terriarum with perlite)

general casing ingredients:

vermiculite
peat moss or coir
lime or chalk or oyster shells

a good ratio is

9 parts peat moss / coir
1 part vermiculite
1 part lime / chalk / crushed oyster shells

you could substitute perlite for vermiculite, but it doesn't work as well.
