Lipa Yai Cakes (PiCS)

I placed these Lipa Yai cakes in my fruiting chamber on Tuesday. I misted the first two days, it is on a 12/12 light cycle, and I give it FAE through fanning it, 2-3 times a day. The RH of the chamber is 95-100%, and the temperature ranges between 75-78F.

They appear to be doing well, but since this is my first grow, I figured i'de post a few pics and get some opinions.

Please, any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

tell me how the shrooms end up. thats my next strain to grow. that is, if i can get my currrent jars to colonize 100% lol.... they are just now hitting about 1/3- 1/2 of the way and its been 9 days. although im using a 2 year old print lol.....mabey thats why!

hmm...they look nice...my only concern is how your terrarium is setup. Do you have lots of holes in your plastic tote for FAE? fanning is a nice gesture but lots of holes works much better. You didn't explain so I Dunno. other than that it looks great and might i suggest next round you try doing verm rezevoir instead of dunk and roll IMO with verm rez you are asking for 2 grams of cubes more every single cake!

Ah, indeed I do, my good sir.

None of the picures really reveal them, but there are about 10 or so holes, about the width of a standard "Sharpie" marker. Placed evenly along along the back, and sides. This is a discreet fruiting chamber, and with the 15w fluorescent inside, glowing for 12hrs a day, I didnt need too many holes attracting attention (or keeping me up at night). I think my mixture of just the right amount of holes and proper amount of fanning, seems to be doing quite nicely.

My Lipa Yai appear to be doing QUiTE well indeed.







The cake displayed in these last two images appears to almost be ready for harvesting in my opinion. I want maximum potency, and the veil has apparently broken on a good few. I think tomorrow, I shall, unless anyone directs me otherwise.

I appreciate all of the positive feedback. I plan to take a few more snapshots tomorrow and maybe another set if the second flush comes around decently.

About three days ago, I popped 12 more jars in my incubator. 4 Z Strain, 4 b+, and 4 PF Strain.

Ide be happy to post some pics of those when the come around, as well.

Once again, I really appreciate all of your thoughts feedback. It makes this forum, what I consider to be the best in its class.

I am just about to birth a Lipa Yai Cake and was curious about how they looked.

I would harvest the ones that are ready, and let the smaller ones go another Day or two.
Then dunk and roll again for another Flush.

No pictures sadly. The camera ran out of batteries, lol.

I will say this though, from the 5 cakes, it yielded 145g fresh.

Its drying as I type  :sunny:

Thx for all the positivity everyone. The cakes are dunking now, and when the second flush comes around, i'll definately post some new pics.

Along with a few other things I have set up in my incubator :smirk:

Well, as I said a month or so ago, I would post new pics when my next project began. Here I am, so here goes.
These are 9 more half pint cakes. I started off with 12. 4 b+, 4 Z strain, & 4 PF Strain. 3 of the PF jars were lost to contaminates (I actually think it was dust or mold spores in the syringe to begin with, because I am quite sterile and it was only that strain that got contaminated). So I was left with 4 b+, 4 Z strain, and 1 PF. I removed them all from their jars about a week or so ago, dunked em' for 24 hours (stupidly I didnt separate the different cake strains so I have no idea which is which, until fruiting) then rolled in dry verm, and placed all 9 in my custom fruiting chamber.

After about 4 or so days in the chamber, I can already see the dry verm starting to be colonized on the outside. And as promised, the pics.






Im quite excited to see what happens, this being my second (hopefully successful) grow.

hey guys, how does a fruiting chamber with out holes do compared to one
with holes. i've heard gas and air exchange is good, and probably neccesary.

its absolutely neccessary if you plan to yeild anything worthwhile. Ive had multiple cakes/grain jars stall on me due to lack of FAE, and i can tell you that keeping up the exchange of fresh air will keep your fruits, fruiting healthily.

my chamber doesnt have nearly as many holes as the chambers outlined in RR's videos but still does quite well. I really think it has to do with placement of the holes and the amount of FAE that takes place, and not so much to do with the quantity of holes.


Keep up that FAE and you cant go wrong. (well you can, but hopefully not)

I actually didnt eat them myself (i know, the crowd goes silent).
I ended up giving about a quarter ounce to my friends one night and I watched their trip. All I can say is that there were BUGGiN!

Ive never done acid either so I woulndt even be able to compare.

I can say tho, that Lipa Yai, from what I witnessed is VERY potent.
