You need to dry those items until they are as brittle as crackers. If you leave them set with some moisture, then they will rot in those few weeks and people will be bioassaying some mushy fungus. A lot of people, it seems, will use some other type of drying device such as a dehydrater, a lamp, etc. and then will put them in a container with damp rid as a final step to heighten the dryness.

My friend had been fan drying for 24 hours follwed by dessicant drying for 72 hours. They get cracker dry and last for a long time.
