Verm for packing boxes?!

I got a catalog in the mail yesterday from a company called ULine. They sell shipping and packaging supplies. They also sell vermiculite for use as a packing material which they say is better then styrofoam when shipping liquids, obviously for it's absorbtion quality. I was wondering if anyone has used this type of verm for cultivation? I wonder if they treat this stuff with any chemicals that might make it less useful than the garden store variety.

my guess is that they use the large grade Verm for doing this.
I don't like the large grade Verm.

I guess you could email them or call them and find out the answers from them.

i got my verm from uline, you got a big box for like 6 bucks. And the grade of it seems to be a split. There is a majority of larger "pieces" and a whole buncha smaller peaces. I dunno, but it worked for me ;P
