This is kinda off topic but I had a very similar experiance last week. I ate some Equadors(4 g's dried) which is a doesage I am very familar with. The trip started out regular. It came on intense for the first hour and then started to decline to a regular level. About an 1 1/2 after ingestion I was done with my peek and tripping regular. Then out of no where a very strong second wave hit me. I was also with 2 other friend who were on some of my Eq's. We all experianced this at the same time. The same thing happened to me the week before. The second wave came on, the mushroom trip went away and some weird shit set in. The hallucinations were comepletely different from mushroom effects. There were no trails or morphing objects, just very scary vivid hallucinations. The main effect was a feeling of body distortion. It felt like my hands were swelling and parts of my body were out of place. We also all had a very real feeling of death. One of my friend threw up and the rest of us felt sick. We all went abesolutly crazy, flippng out to the point of wanting to die. Time also seemed to stand still. It was pure hell. The weird thing is it happened to me the week before, and now it happened to all three of us. It made us all feel poisoned. I suspect that my shrooms went bad. I have a feeling that they were not dried properly. Every stem has white fuzz in it. What we experianced was not mushrooms it was some kind of contamination, it was very apparent. In my personal oppinion, when people experiance frightening trips, they use it in the wrong way. It should be used as a tool, because its displaying your fears before you, in a rather cryptic way. Its much the same as with nightmares. I'm not saying that if you have hidden fears you will always have a bad experiance, but I try too look at it as chance for growth, rather than be scared of tripping (*NOT saying any of you are). Anyway, just my two cents.

I don't think mine were contaminated, but can't be sure. I harvested them on wed and thur and fri. Kept them in a crisper in paper bag until ingestion time. Do you think it is possible that because we mixed two strains that it caused a screwed up trip. Or did we just underestimate the potency of fresh, wet shrooms? Hard to tell. I think we just ate too much. The dosage calculator says that about 17 grams wet will get you a level 3. I will follow it next time, and eat them dried.

I don't know about you guys, but I don't find tripping really hard a very good social experience. If you are taking an especially large dose, you need time to just meditate with your eyes closed and let all reality go. Dream the ultimate dream sorta. Friends all around you tend to draw me back to reality when my body is trying to leave. Never the less, a bad trip can happen to anyone I believe, regardless of how sound their psyche. I'd gather bad trips are probably why shrooms are not considered psychologically addictive.ShroomGod

I know what you mean ShroomGod, I don't like tripping with friends either, it just feels uncomfortable and akward. I've had bad trips on mushrooms before, and plenty of good trips. The bad trips that me and my friends experianced were very different from any mushroom effects I've ever experianced. And it was identical to the bad trip I had the previous week. It started out the best trip, everything perfect, we were camping on the appalachian trail watching the sunset. We were all in our own world, separated just chillin. Then as things mellowed out, all of a sudden one of my friends comes over and asks me if I feel weird, the other guy that was with us started feeling akward too. I also noticed the same feeling I had the week before, I thought it might have been bad shrooms, but shruged it off as a bad trip. Now I was sure, the same feeling of poision came on strong, unable to funtion, speak, think, and there was strong hallucinations, way different from any mushroom effects. It's too hard too explain in words. I have responsively/spiritually used mushrooms for a few years, I've had my bad trips on different mushrooms, this was different, and I'm sure of it. What happens if your mushrooms still hold a little moisture due to improper drying. I think mine might have some mold in them. When I cracked some stems they had white fuzz in them. I'm not sure if thats normal or not. I never cracked my shrooms open before. I 've had the same bag for 3 months now. 3 oz. in one gallon zip lock bag. Mushrooms were dried for 15-20 hours on dehyrator. Anyway, I'm not sure what happened so I threw all of them out. I feel very very bad for putting my best frends through this. One of them really freaked bad. The weirdest thing about this whole ordeal, is this all happened after the mushroom trip was almost gone?

Me and my wife usually trip by ourselves or in rooms with loud music. Pretty much isolated without conversation from anyone. We tripped with six people once and I think the interaction fucked my wifes trip up because she started gimpin out bad (thinking she was gettin eatan by her paisly blanket). She usually never does that when we are by ourselves. The people we tripped with were first timers too. Who knows what they said to freak her out but since then we stick to the normal routine. Plus, a couple that was there we normally didn't hang out with. I figured out that that and some really strong shit was probably the problem.

Well I knew that people would tell me its just a bad trip. Thats what I told myself the first time I experianced this. These effect that are felt are far from mushroom effects, and theres no way I could explain it. I may not have years and years of experiance with mushrooms but I've had my fair share and this is different. If you were here to eat some I would gladly let you see for your self. Last night after talikng with a friend, I took out my microscope to check for a specific contaminant he told me about. I looked under some dried caps at 40X and could see bright green specks attached to the gills. I think he called it tetracali(ms) I'm not sure if this is abesolutly the cause or not, I need to do some more research on this contaminant. I do know that something is wrong with these mushrooms, I felt it. BTW Ryche you were right, I did some research on white fuzz in the stem and found out it was just mycelium, perfectly normal.
Thats all I have to say. Its clear no one believes me, and can't help figure out what this is. Sorry for going so off topic.

Lizard King: I don't really believe it is off topic. We're talking about dosing, strain, drying, contamination, and to some extent cultivation. I would like to hear more about your findings if you get anything more definitive. I think I will purchase a microscope now. I really appreciate your input.Ryche: thanks for the response. I ordered the Eqs from you. I don't think there was something wrong with my shrooms....just took too much. If you and your friends tripped pretty hard on 8-10 grams in tea, then our 25-34 grams each was as the post is titled: Way too much. Thanks for the feedback. I really do believe the musrooms were trying to tell me something. It is odd, but I kept seeing mushrooms in varying stages of growth in my head throughout the latter part of the trip. Thanks for the pre-flight tip of asking for a good experience. I do think there is something to that.
