ok those seedlings are not looking good they need MORE light or they are not peyote seeds, i have 5-8 year old peyote that are just about 1 inch tall. seedlings should stay round and short unless they are STREACHING for light or they were not labled right and are a different cacti.
good luck

This isn't mushrooms.
i was thinking the exact thing.
cutting off air is actually worse for your cacti than dirty conditions. i don't clean fuck all with my cacti and have pretty good success.
as for 8 year old peyote being 1 inch, that is pretty damned tiny. you should have 1 inch by 2 years in cultivation. not that big a deal, but that is like wild type speed. you can get 1+ inches a year fairly easily.

just saying you don't think thats pretty small for 8 years? they look healthy, but if given good light water etc they should be much larger.
ya he needs more light, you covered that and sterile conditions or not, the seeds will have "contams" on them, so cutting off circulation and keeping up humidity will probably promote bad stuff rather than deter it.
does anyone here grow lophs without stretching using flouros? i am curious how many you need to get it right.

they are all ok. but they look a little stretched. but they are still tiny, let them grow a bit before worrying too much.

I know they're all stretched and I put a dedicated light on them a while back. They don't look much different now than the last pictures I posted but they're still green to deep green. Stretching or not they're alive. I trust they're the real deal because I obtained the seeds from a reputable vendor...the problem with them stretching was just caused by me. I've never grown any cactus before. Anyhow thanks for the interest! I'll be sure to post pictures when these little guys look any different.

in 6 months you wont even notice (if you got good light on them). they are super young, so its nothing.

how far should you keep your lights from seedlings? and i was told water from the bottom, and mist them.
my clay pots hole is like 1/4 inset from the bottom...how do i water from the bottom then?
how much misting?
p.s. they arent sprouted yet

dopnt need to water from the bottom...its just done cause you can mix up the seeds and sub. when top watering. i water seedlings via misting.
distance from lights depends on your light. i keep mi seedlings about 12" below 2 2' flouros. doesn't really matter as long as they aren't stretching or turning red.
