You need a permit to buy absolute ethanol (EtOH)!?

I got 190 proof at the liquor store. You will pay mush more for pure EtOH. I think for general purposes and plant extraction 190 will work fine.

Or use acetic acid...then you don't look like a wino at the liquor store ;-)

MeOH supposedly works better than EtOH, but MeOH is nasty stuff to get in your system (going blind ain't fun) and the stuff you'll buy at the hardware store probably has traces of other nasties in it.

(Everclear is a common brand of 95% EtOH at U.S. liquor stores, BTW).

don't need to extract to make gelcaps, unless you want a lot per cap, which I am guessing you do. Anyway, it is not too hard to swallow eight or so pills.
