Panaeolus or Conocybe?

Someone told me the shrooms that i picked might either be Panaeolus or Conocybe type.... but told me to take a spore print.... how do i do this and what results would show me if the were either one?

Cut the cap from the stem and place the cap with the gills down above a piece of paper, Conocybe spore print should be rusty-brown, Panaeolus spore print should be black.
