P. Stunzii requires the same growing parameters as azures, and is lower in potency than Cubensis, so it is not a worthwhile growing mushroom, but if you're like me, and have a fondness to collecting different species/strains of psychedelic mushrooms, then they're great

After my trip to WA though, and talking with J. Allen who looks for mushrooms all year around there, he says the stunzii's grow up till late spring there, and start again in the fall. Where as the azures and p. cyans stop after the first freeze in the fall or winter, and "usually" will not fruit again till the next fall, occaisionally fruiting in the spring. He also said he tends to find them in grass more then any place else.
Anohter note, when they do find them, their usually in huge patches, with hundereds of them.

I've grown a single specimen outdoors and I didn't take a picture because it was so lame and I "knew" more would come up any day. It was a poorly made bed and I was lucky to get any mushrooms. The mycelium was thin and easily contaminated on alder wood chips. I could have a weak strain but I am not sure. I'll make a new bed for a spring flush.

They are called blue ringers because they leave a ring on the stem after the veil tears. The ring is often blue.
