I do not have a camera unfortunately. Done alot of looking around the web at heaps of pictures, pictures of other amanitas, from what I understand they are Amanita Muscaria. They are right out front. Under some tree. In Launceston, Tasmania, Australia. I was amazed when I saw them..
What I want to know is.. They're starting to fade a bit now that I've left them there. They were a lovely red a few days ago but it has been raining now. They've kinda faded to an almost orange colour.. Should I pick them and try and get a photo as soon as possible.. Or should I leave them there and take a picture when I can?
If I leave them there will they just die and not be of any use anymore?

Sure they will? :P
I will be trying them. I have read up. I know what I'm in for. I've done quite the research and read others experiences. Sounds like it could be fun if prepared the right way. Plus. They look pretty.

Do you mean how the Amanita muscarias in some countries are supposedly active while ones in other countries aren't? or do you mean the differences between different species of the Amanita genus?
And no im not an expert but Amanita muscaria are pretty easy to ID in more areas. Certainly compared to Amanita phalloides etc.
Amanita muscaria and the panther amanita are the only 'active' (though not in the same way as psilocybin mushrooms) ones that i know of and both are easy to distinguish if you do it right.
