Alright, well I went with Avast, and it seems to have fixed the virus problem(that I can tell so far), but I still have a problem that I need help with.
Down on the right of the taskbar is a flashing icon, switching back and forth from a blue circle with a yellow X in the middle, to a yellow triangle with a black ! in the middle of it. Every minute or so a window/bubble pops up from the icon saying:
"System Alert! System has detected a number of active spyware applications that may impact the performance of your computer. Click the icon to get rid of unwanted spyware by downloading an up-to-date antispyware solution."
When I click on the icon, it takes me to http://www.spylocked.com/?aff=334 (you don't have to click the webpage if you don't trust it ) which is a website ad for Spylocked-Antispyware Tool. When I right click the icon it takes me directly to the same page, no options for disabling the icon or anything. Its pretty annoying always having the bubble pop up every minute, but whats worse is that if I'm playing a game, the game will freeze at the same moment that the bubble pops up, and I have to ctrl-alt-del out of the game and close it, restart it, and then it freezes again and again.
What can I do to fix this problem and get rid of it? Avast didn't seem to catch it. I did a search on my computer for anything related to "Spylocked" and found a few files, deleted them, and it didn't fix the problem.
Please help me out guys.

Will it interfere with Avast? I'd like to continue to use it if I could. Let me know man, I'm just sitting here twiddling my thumbs and browsing the shroomery while I wait;), and thanks for the tip .

I'm doing a scan right now, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to tell if it fixed the problem or if I did by accidental luck. I was messing around with the taskbar options and selected two that had to do with the adware icon and chose to "hide always". For some reason it worked this time and the pop-up hasn't come up again(this was before even downloading AVG). But if I'm correct, if AVG does fix it, won't those icons not even be in the list of icons for me to choose "hide always" or "always show" etc...? I would think it should remove them completely if it finds them and fixes the problem.
Let me know what you think about it. I don't know much about antivirus programs and stuff.
Thanks for the help too, I really appreciate it.:)

I would try and get rid of it instead of just hiding it. Its sort of like having a cancerous mole on your arm and just covering it with your sleeve, it will just keep getting worse. If you absolutely cant fix it back up everything that you want to keep and format your computer. I format mine about once a month, and as soon as your format it install an anti-virus. Studies have shown that a windows pc will become compromised within 10 hours without an anti-virus if connected to the internet

Well I'm definitely gonna try to fix the problem. And I have no clue how to format a computer. I'm not into computers so much as I am playing the GAMES on the computer and surfing the shroomery forums.;)

Spybot Search&Destroy I've got. It didn't do anything for the adware program icon thing either.
I'm gonna try to deal with this crap without formatting the computer myself if I can help it. I really don't think I could end up doing it without messing something up. Especially since I don't think I even have a Windows disk...

So does Avast
And it comes with scanners (automatic) for instant messaging, internet mail, web page objects, outlook/exchange, P2P software, and a network shield to catch exploits.
