No, I know that hitting the Reply button in someone's post makes it so that you're "RE"ing them. I said "Quick Reply is specifically the reply box at the bottom of the page" in response to Krystal's comment about Quick reply because the Reply in the post box isn't called "Quick Reply"; "Quick reply" refers specifically to the reply box at the bottom of the page.

Also, niteowl: it doesn't skip to the bottom of the page (Quick Reply); it brings you to a completely new page (Reply).

What does adrug's comment have to do with anything? People don't know about the Reply To feature and they end up replying to the last user which sometimes causes confusion so I'm just suggesting that the Quick reply defaults to the initial post. Anybody who uses the Reply to feature and wants to address someone can do so. :shrug:

This is just dumb.

Since more often than not, once a thread kicks off, people will be responding to one another within the thread, it then becomes more work for the people who end up discussing (as opposed to just responding to the first post and leaving) because they have to hit quick reply on the last post every time.

No it doesn't. Clicking on "Quick Reply" at the post you're replying to takes you directly to the quick reply box at the end of the page.

Clicking on "Reply" takes you to a different page all together.........the reply page
