"Bad words" lol why are these words so "BAD"

shit, ass, cunt, bitch, fuck.....and so on and so forth. why are these bad words, and who decided these words were bad?? these are just words and ppl get soo offended by them, especially the dreaded "F" word :rolleyes: why?? i dont understand how these words can have such an impact on ppl and offend them sooo much.

And for some reason its even worse for a female to say these words....
i've been told more times than none to "talk like a lady" & that ppl lose respect for me, when i talk with such a dirty mouth all the time. well FUCK TAHT!!! they are just words

ive just always been curious about this, what do u guys think about it????

Meh, I personally enjoy that they're "BAD" words. If they were treated like all the other words, they wouldn't be as fun to say, or have nearly the impact when you drop the bomb at a family outing.

they are only bad coz people thing bad things when they say them.

A common example:

When a white guy calls a black guy a nigga it can be bad, because they are being despective. But black guys calling each other nigga aren't being disrispectful so they won't get offended.

It's all in peoples minds. If you are using the word in a bad way thinking bad things it is a bad word.

I find it kind of cute when women swear, lol

i swear quite a bit when i talk and ill often use words like skank douchebag and the likes in regular conversation. and people will always get mad at me and take it as an insult. but i always say that like getting mad at a frenchman for talking about seals. just the way i talk and its too bad theyve got a stick up their ass about it.

I tell my kids that there are no bad words, just bad times to use them. Heck my 7 year old knows all the major curse words and can spell them as well, but she knows not to use them until she's a little bit older, mainly so I don't get annoying bitchy calls from her school. Though a few times when she's stubbed a toe or something I've heard her say "shit" or "damn" or something and it was pretty damn funny. But really can you blame someone for cursing in that scenario? Heck, it relieves stress.

My mum told me in The British Navy the men used to get a bit intimate with each other when they were alone at sea. In the olden days if they were caught they'd get punnished and "FUCK" was written down in the punnishment book ("Flogged for Unlawfull Carnel Knowledge").

they are words generally fueled by negativity, and thus become 'bad words' because of the emotional responses they often instigate. emotional responses can become attached to words just like anything else, so even though it's just a word, it can carry a different emotional punch for different people.
