in skilled hands a knife it far more dangerous than a gun, it hurts more to be stabbed than shot and recovery takes a great deal longer. fortunate for us that those that are skilled dont often use it and generally only do for defense
I watched a saudi kid hold off 9 wannabe klansmen for about 10 minutes with a small pocket knife, they were armed with sticks and chains and shit, I think he would have killed at least 4 if any of them had the balls to jump, aparently instead of game consoles little middle eastern boys get pocket knives.
I've always hear that knives are better than guns in a confrontation. I know knives are feared number one by cops over guns because if a guy is lunging at you with a knive from a certain distance, there is little a cop can do for self defense, because a gun bullet wouldn't necessarily stop the guys momentum.
This makes me think of that movie with Benicio Del Toro and that other dude that fight in Portland in the woods using knives and stuff. Anyone remember that one? I think it's called "The Hunted" or something like that. Great movie.

a knife will also quickly penetrate kevlar with little effort, I read a study a few years back on the mechanics of a stabbing, if I can locate it I'll post the link, it was pretty interesting

no empirical evidence comes to mind yet it seems possible, but we are conditioned to acting with our 3d body that we can't enable any other abilities without methamphetamines and psychoactives and mindful energy work
-------------------- at this point i think we can be relatively certain seperation exists as a fallacy of finite perception, and the only barrier to infinite creativity is a preimposed notion of certainty and artificial conditioning. nothing is without origin
