First time casing advice

I have a few jars of finchseed that are ready to be cased and I have a question. Should I use a bottom casing layer or just one on top?

This is one of those questions that will be posted on this board until the end of time. Personally, I have given up on the bottom layer. It really doesn't seem to make a difference. Now, I just crumble the colonized substate in the bottom of the container and put a layer of 50/50 peat/verm or coco-coir over it. Hope this helps.

I never use a bottom layer. This is really a matter of opinion. If you feel you have to then do it. If you feel you don't then don't.
