Hey Oleander my remarks were not meant to be critical at all. I really made the distinction on the pen names for the sake of any newbies that might not know. I think this is a wonderful thread...makes one think. Keep them coming ------------------ Peace, Love & Light

Well Oss & Oeric are penn names for the McKenna brothers...so I suppose they are who you mean. But it's kind of hard to rate these since you have a professionals like Staments and Mckenna and then amature pioneers like many of those at the Shroomery all in the same list. Very interesting thing to consider. Many times the pioneers of the present are those considered the professionals of the future. I have been cultivating since the late 70's and what has impressed me the most is the variety of strains that are available now that were not around way back then. In that respect the work done by Mr. G should be considered. And maybe consider expanding your list of pioneers to include Ryche for not only assisting Mr. G in spreading the seed but for many inovations and the personal guidance he has given the group. And the work of ShroomGod surely should be considered...that's what's so great about the Shroomery...imagination, inovation and awsume communication. Casing is kind of redundant with the Mckenna brothers since their work made the casing process more available to the public even though they borrowed it from the Button Mushroom industry. But if I were to consider what has had the greatest impact on my ability to cultivate, it would have to be the books released by Stamets. Who has increased my ability to enjoy this endevor,it would be the Ryche/Mr G combo. And what has allowed me to explore new possibilities and share the fun...it is the Shroomery. Good question Oleander. ------------------ Peace, Love & Light

yeah, I knew that about Oss and Oeric, and I included them along with casing, not because of their method directly, but because they made cultivation more easily available to amateurs like myself. I guess I wasn't thinking, Ryche and Mr. G(I don't really know much about him, except that a great number of the strains around today, came from him) didn't cross my mind, but I think they should be included, rather high on the list, say 4 and 5 respectivly. More to come as my mind starts working this morning... Oleander------------------ Do you answer questions, or question answers?

I didn't think they were critical, I honestly didn't know that everybody knew about the pen names... I also realized that I left out BIO and Gartz, they certainly belong in a Mushroom Hall of Fame... Oleander------------------ Do you answer questions, or question answers?

What would you include??? Oleanderand Workman, he definently belongs... ------------------ Do you answer questions, or question answers?

Thanks, Oleander, but in all honesty, I don't think anyone could really compile such a list easily. The problem is that you have a lot of really knowledgeable guys on the Shroomery that sort of "lurk in the shadows". Just when I get cocky, Workman, BIO, Doctor Dung, and several others show me something I never thought of. And that's what's great about the Shroomery; all these great people come together and share ideas. This goes back to something more fundamental; that is, if the Shroomery and, in fact, tripping itself have taught me anything, it's humility (despite my somewhat pretentious alias). No man is an island. Back from vacation, ShroomGod

I think that Mazatecs, Zapotecs, and all the Indians tribes that keep the use of mushrooms in spite of the Inquisition should be in the Hall of Fame
