Surprise

I woke up this morning to a surprise. My cakes that had been colonizing for sometime began growing invert. The strange thing is that the top of my cakes are not fully colonized on the top, I was wondering if it was safe to birth them anyhow.

birthing any cake before full colonization is not a good idea

Do you mean invitro?
Cakes not colonized on the top. Is this the protective layer of dry vermiculite your talking about?
