Vacation Destinations

So my gf and I are thinking about taking a vacation...but we're not sure where to go yet! We definitely want to go to the Caribbean...but where is the question!

Have any of you been there before? If so, where did you go? How was it?

St. John, in the U.S. Virgin Islands, is unbelievable. YOu take a plane to St. Thomas, and then St. John is only accessible by boat, not plane, because it is something like 95 percent nature preserve.

Well, if you decide not to go to the Caribbean, I've got a good suggestion. I assume that you are looking for nice beaches/scenery/wildlife so I would recommend Costa Rica. It will probably be MUCH cheaper than the Virgin Islands, and there is more to see and do. Costa Rica is considerably more expensive than it's Central American neighbors, but it is still pretty cheap by US standards (and I assume Canadian). If you want to know more about it, just let me know as I was there for a little while last summer. It's badass...

If you are looking for a different type of place, I've got a few other suggestions.

Oh well when I said "Caribbean" I meant any of those islands down there...I just don't know my geography names :smirk:

Cuba is an option too, so really anywhere around there is good!

The Dominican Republic is more of a fratboy spring break destination now than it used to be, so it's not as nice...harder to find a quiet spot, but if you go you can hang out with Phred.

What about Cuba, anyone been there?

I have a friend who went and absolutely LOVED it...said he'd even consider moving there!

I've only been on one cruise and it was to the caribbean. Absolutely terrible.
I'm with you, man. I'd much rather get somewhere and enjoy it rather than making a few stops here and there at ridiculously crowded islands that are owned by the cruise lines.

West Indies is where it's at. We've been to St. Thomas, St. Barts and had our wedding on the island of St Lucia. I couldn't pick my favorite from the 3 but they were all much nicer than either Jamaica, Puerto Rico or any of the tourist traps we stopped at in the Caribbean.

On storing pedro tea...

Brewmaster: Well, the mescaline will still be in there, but I'd be afraid of it conjealing and trying to escape after it grew in size from eating all the other shit in my fridge, and possibly my dogs if it got out.

Pithlit: sentient drugs, now that is an idea ...

OneMoreRobot: Idea? It's a fuckin' reality. You know Salvia? Nigga stole my TV.
